F.A.Q.

1 .What is GRC/GFRC?

GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete), also known as GFRC, is a composite material made from a cement-based matrix reinforced with alkali-resistant glass fibers. It is lighter than conventional concrete, highly resistant to weathering and freeze-thaw cycles, and can be molded into complex architectural shapes and fine surface textures.

Conventional reinforced concrete relies on steel for tensile strength and is significantly heavier. GFRC achieves comparable tensile performance through glass fiber reinforcement at 10–20 kg/m², reducing structural load, transport complexity, and installation time.

GFRC can be used to produce facade panels, cornices, columns, pilasters, window and doorway surrounds, decorative mouldings, screens, cladding elements, and custom architectural ornaments.

Yes — over 20 years we have developed proprietary mix compositions, fixing systems, and installation methods for Kazakhstan's extreme conditions: temperature swings from +35°C to −40°C, freeze-thaw cycling, and seismic activity up to 9 points in the Almaty region.

Yes. Custom mold engineering is central to what we do. We produce elements to client drawings and specifications, including complex geometries, non-standard dimensions, and bespoke surface textures. We do not work from a fixed catalogue.

Projects move through design review and technical consultation, mix formulation, mold engineering, panel production handcrafted by our specialists, quality control, logistics, and installation coordination.

Production timelines depend on the complexity, volume, and mold requirements of each project. Contact us with your project scope and we will give you a specific answer.

Yes. We work directly with all project stakeholders — architects, designers, developers, project directors, and main contractors. Our engineering team is involved from early design stages through to final installation.

Yes. SALBEN Group works with international developers, architectural firms, and contractors active in Kazakhstan and the CIS. Use the Become a Partner inquiry type when contacting us.

We work on commercial developments, residential complexes, public and government buildings, and custom or landmark architectural projects. Clients include BI Group, Mabetex Group, Renaissance Construction, Hayat Construction Group, and government-scale project contractors.
